Thus, it was difficult to articulate our policy in a complex environment. This post is an opportunity to address them. Our purpose is simply to report the facts. Faced with the surreal and Kafkaesque dimension of this complaint, and on the advice of the police, we stop updating the blog the same day without explaining the reasons (see below). The officer also advises us to contact the club to promote reconciliation. That's what we're going to apply.
4) Contacts with the club.
Our multiple phone calls at the headquarters of the club have never gone beyond the standard. After the match Tours / Caen March 5, 2007, one of us manages to discuss with Mr. Mokeddel, the communications director of the club. This proves rather comprehensive and invites us to write to President Fortin, saying that an interview would be granted. What was our posture? We find ourselves in the paradoxical situation of loyal fans sued by the club they support. Moreover, since the beginning of the case, we understood that media coverage of this claim would undermine the image of the club. It seemed so necessary to preserve the club of a media frenzy and explain reasonable people. To demonstrate our good will, the blog has ceased trading on February 5 and the case "explode" until two months later when an immediate media coverage could be an option.
Says otherwise, we thought that if a complaint had been filed against the authors of the blog, is that the plaintiffs had a good reason. We were open to hear and even understand why. Then we would have stopped the blog. Yet would it take to explain why. Once the club was aware that the blog came from supporters, we felt that the dialogue should be possible.
5) The media.
We must understand that we never wanted this media frenzy for the reasons mentioned above. While we were still and still awaiting a response from the club to our mail, a reporter from the Ouest-France has reached back to us. Our first reaction was to take no action, in keeping with our policy. We did not participate in the media that we feared the effects on the image of the club. We therefore indicate the reporter that we are awaiting a response from the leaders and we do not want to express ourselves by then. Yes, but here it is: the reporter has already interviewed Franck Dumas. We learn that the position of the club is clearly not to respond to our letter and not respond to our attempts at conciliation. Our hopes falling into the water, we realize that with or without our participation, the article will appear. So cons to heart than we found it necessary to explain our point of view. 6) Why anonymity?
